mola is a traditional art form developed in panama city, during the 20th century. The mola forms part of the traditional costume of a Kuna woman (treditional panamian women). as a designer i usually find my inspiration in colorful people, art form, communities and materials. that is way i was obviously fascinated with this amazing art form, that create new shapes and colores by using depth. i created two pieces of clothing that decorate the outfit like a jewlery does the body. i used colorful leather and laser cutting to make my illustration become alive, using layering technique inspired by molas.
